A piece of wood in the shape of peace
There is a technique called "finger joint" to join wooden parts together. As the name suggests, the wood is carved in a zigzag pattern, resembling the interlacing of the fingers of both hands.
This is a technique to increase the bonding area and make it stronger.
At the Cosine workshop, I tried making a card stand using this technique to make use of the short materials and scraps that are inevitably left over when making furniture.
It was made by combining four types of wood used in Cosine furniture.
The moderately deep grooves support photos and cards at a stable angle.
Taking advantage of its shape, which resembles the fingers of both hands, we put the two pieces together and named it ``woodpeace,'' which symbolizes the idea of holding hands together.
It comes in a transparent bag with a small card.

This oil is based on natural vegetable oils and maintains the texture of the wood. Maintenance can be easily done by applying multiple coats of oil. Do not hang wet items directly on the product as this may cause stains. If moisture gets on it, wipe it off immediately. You can wipe it with a damp cloth if you have wrung it out well.
Painting B creates a film on the surface of the wood, making it resistant to scratches and dirt. For normal maintenance, simply removing dust with a dry cloth is sufficient. If the dirt is heavy, remove the dirt with a cloth soaked in diluted soapy water, wipe off the detergent with a well-wrung cloth, and then wipe thoroughly with a soft cloth.
This product is made using short materials.
At Cosine, we refer to materials that are produced during the furniture making process and are too large to be used to make furniture anymore as "short materials."
Even if you can't make furniture, you can still make small things using the materials.
At Cosine, ``short materials'' are used to make cosine toys and accessories, and scraps that are smaller than that are called ``koppappa'' and are used in manufacturing workshops.
Both short pieces of wood and small pieces of wood are important pieces of wood that have grown over a long period of time, and even when they are small, they still convey the warmth of wood.
Circle cycle ecosine
Cosine was born out of a waste of materials left over from furniture making.
We try to avoid producing "wooden waste" from our workshop as much as possible.
That's why we do everything we can to recycle.
