4 types with different growth locations, characteristics and facial expressions

There are four main types of wood used by Cosain: maple, walnut, oak, and cherry. In particular, silky smooth and bright maple is a representative material of cosine.
Maple and walnut are from North America, and oak and cherry are all from Hokkaido. Each has different characteristics and expressions such as grain, color, hardness, and weight.

Let's see where we grew up on a world map!

Where does the cosine tree grow?

What are the characteristics of each?

Maple

Origin: Quebec, Canada │ Category: Aceraceae

The leaves and maple syrup on the Canadian flag may be more of a pinch.
It is characterized by a very hard, white and glossy wood surface. In addition to furniture, it is strong against impact and is used for bowling lanes, musical instruments, exercise equipment, etc. Characteristic heathers such as bird's eye heather and fiddleback heather are used as surface materials for musical instruments and siding of houses by taking advantage of their beauty.

Walnut

Origin: Midwestern North America │ Category: Walnut family

It is one of the world's most famous trees, along with mahogany and teak. Speaking of walnut trees, you will feel familiar with them. Due to its heavy texture, it has been popular as a furniture material in Europe since the Renaissance era. In the archetypal era of the west, it was believed that when iron was driven in, the color of the material became darker, and nails and bullets were driven in, so bullets may come out of the sawn timber.

Oak

Origin: Japan All over Hokkaido │ Category: Fagaceae

The acorn tree oak has been revered as the "King of the Forest" for its magnificent tree shape and vitality. Because it is a slow-growing hardwood, most of the furniture materials are over 150 years old. The unique striped pattern of the tiger called "Torafu" is one of the characteristics of oak wood. It has excellent characteristics and has been used for construction, furniture, ship materials, etc. for a long time. It is also used in whiskey and wine aging barrels because the tannins and polyphenols contained in the ingredients dissolve in alcohol to create a mellow aroma. In addition to Russian oak, some Hokkaido oak is also used.

Walnut

Origin: Japan All over Hokkaido │ Category: Rosaceae

We are using "Yamazakura" from Hokkaido. The material is sticky and strong, it is easy to cut and there is little warpage, so most of the woodblocks for printing ukiyo-e and books in the Edo period were wild cherry blossoms. When grown, the diameter of the chest height is about 1 m, but nowadays, wild cherry trees cannot take large materials, so the reddish and white thick parts that are characteristic of cherry blossoms are clearly separated and weave by nature. You can enjoy beautiful colors. The change occurs relatively quickly, and the more you use it, the more glossy it becomes and the more it turns reddish brown.
