Let's make it by combining parts! Three-dimensional stag beetle!
Koppa block made from wood chips
At Cosine's workshop, we have made blocks out of wood scraps that inevitably come up in the process of making furniture and household tools.
A solid wood block that allows you to create three-dimensional crafts by connecting parts with holes of different lengths with wooden dowels.
By intricately combining parts of three different sizes with three different types of wooden dowels, a stag beetle with a body length of approximately 43 cm that can move its jaw, face, legs, and wings is created.
The difficulty level is medium for the beetles, stag beetles, and airplanes, so even children in the upper grades of elementary school should be able to assemble them by themselves.
In addition to the parts of the kit (blocks and dowels), there is an extra randomly-shaped tip that is produced when making products in the workshop.
The completed stag beetle looks cool as is, but you can also create an original design for the stag beetle by pasting the included pieces of wood, or create insect companions.
All parts with holes are solid wood. There are some hangnails and chips, so please use the included file to smooth them out a little before playing with them. The parts come in a variety of wood species, including maple, walnut, cherry, oak, and ash. Enjoy the different expressions and textures of each piece of wood as you work.
- *Contains small parts. Never give this to small children as there is a risk of accidental ingestion or suffocation.
- *Please be sure to play under the supervision of a guardian or play together with a guardian.
- ● Please read the instructions carefully before assembly.
- ● Please use the included file to smooth out any hangnails or sharp edges.
- ● If you do not have enough wood glue, please purchase commercially available wood glue separately.
- ● Tools other than sandpaper and wood glue are not included in the package, so please prepare them separately if necessary.
- ● Depending on the production status of the workshop, the included chopsticks may have little variation in the types of wood chips and may contain many similar shapes and wood species.
- ● The included koppa may have writing or markings on it.
Wood chips from Cosine's workshop ``Koppappa''
Cosine was founded in 1988 by four craftsmen who wondered if it was possible to make use of the scraps of wood that are produced when making furniture. Even today, more than 30 years after its founding, Cosine continues to strive to make the most of wood. Cosine forms the basis of manufacturing.
This "Koppappa" is also a product born from this idea.
Even pieces of wood that are too small to make furniture or wooden accessories in the workshop are precious pieces of wood that have grown over many years. Depending on your imagination, it can be transformed into various things and continue to live in our lives.
This ``Koppappa'' is a ``piece of wood'' that is produced during the manufacturing process, so its contents vary depending on the production status of the workshop. There are cases where there are many pieces of the same wood species, there are few variations in shape, and there are cases where there are many pieces of wood with the same shape, but from a chance encounter with small materials, you can freely come up with ideas and create original crafts. I hope you enjoy it.
